
Xu Nenggui, Doctor of Medicine,Second GradeProfessor, Doctoral Supervisor, former vice President of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, is currently the executive vice President of Guangzhou Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Director of South China Research CenterforAcupuncture and Moxibustion at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, and the academic leader of Traditional Chinese Medicine (level-1 discipline at the national level). He also holds the position of academic leader of Acupuncture and Tuina (Guangdongprovincial key discipline), Chief Scientist of the National Key Basic Research and Development Program (973 Program), Chief Researcher at Guangdong Provincial Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and a "Qihuang Scholar”. Xu Nenggui is recognized among the second "Hundred Outstanding Young TCM Practitioners" in China, a National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker, and a participant in the "Hundred Outstanding Talents Cultivation Project" in Guangdong Province. He enjoysthe State CouncilSpecial Allowance, is a talent of the national "Hundred-Thounsand-Ten Thousand" cultivation project, and has been recognized as a young expert with outstanding contributions at the national level. As a leading figure of medicine of the province, he has been honored the “Nanyue Innovation Award” of Guangdong, and recognized as theGuangdong Leading Medical Talent andGuangdong Provincial Work Model. He has been vice President of China Association for Acupuncture and Moxibustion (Chairman of its Meridian Branch), Chairman of the Science and Technology Committee of World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies, vice President of Guangdong Provincial Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and vice director of the journal editorial committee ofChinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion. Xu has been devoted to the research of the law and mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion effect. He has hosted more than 20 high-level (provincial and above) projects, including National “973 Program” and National Key Research and Development Program of China; published more than 200 academic worksin academic journalsincludingBMJ(one of the four world-famous medical journals).
