Heconcurrentlyservesasalifelong honorary director of theBrain DiseaseBranch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine,alifelong director of the GuangdongProvincialAssociation of Chinese Medicine, andanacademic leader in the TCMbraindiseasedisciplineat Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine(GZUCM).Heis engaged inTCMresearch onbrain diseasesuch as stroke, advocates the theory of "the brain is the home of the Yuan Shen (originalspirit).", andproposesthe creation of a newdiscipline ofTCMbrain disease, whichhasestablished him as a prominent pioneer and contributor to the development of TCM brain disease discipline.Hedevelopeda diagnosis and treatment system for stroke based on the principles of "Yin-Yang as the guideline, differentiation and treatment based on similarsyndromes."He also ledthe national9th Five-Year Planresearch project on cerebral hemorrhage,demonstratingthedistinctadvantages of TCM in treatingcerebral hemorrhage. This work wasacknowledgedby the Ministry of Science and Technology as thesole"OutstandingScientific andTechnologicalAchievement" in TCM clinical practiceand receivedtheFirstPrize forScienceandTechnologyProgressAwardfromtheChinaAssociation of Chinese Medicine.He has led and guided research teams, taking charge of multiple national projects on stroke during the10th and 11th Five-Year Plans. Continuously, he has obtained crucial clinical evidence in the field of TCM for preventing and treating stroke. He has developed hospital formulationslike"Tongfu Xingshen Capsules"to prevent and treatconditions such as stroke, epilepsy, headaches, dizziness, and insomnia. He has trained over 30 master's and doctoral students, supervised 5 postdoctoral researchers, and mentored 5 apprentices. Hehas edited and published more than 10 monographs and textbooks, and published over 100 papers in academic journals.Hewashonoredas the Bethune Advanced Worker of the Guangdong Provincial Health System. He alsoreceivedawardssuch as the Outstanding Contribution Achievement Award from theChinaAssociation of Chinese Medicine, the Academic Development Achievement Award in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the International Contribution Awardfrom the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, among others.
