Heis a member ofthe Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party(CPWDP),awell-knownTraditional Chinese Medicine（TCM）oncologist, one of the 3rd batch of National TCM Masters, and a member of the academic department of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. He has been awarded the titles of"Guangdong Provincial Distinguished TCM Practitioner"and"Guangdong Leading Medical Talent". He is the chief professor at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GZUCM), a chief physician, a doctoral supervisor, and a mentor for the program"Inheritance of the Academic Experienceof National VeteranTCM Experts".Currently, heholds the positions ofthe director of the Institute of Oncology atGZUCM,thedirector of the Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology Medical Center,thechairmanof Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Promotion Association, and the editor-in-chief ofthejournal"Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology."Hefounded theoncology departmentattheFirstAffiliatedHospital of GZUCM and servedas the first director.In 1982, heestablisheda Chinese medicine oncologycourseat the university.He also served as the founding president andthenthe second president of theOncologyBranch oftheChina Association of Chinese Medicine(CACM).Heis known for his exceptionalskillsin treatingchallengingand severediseases, especiallyadvanced andhard-to-treat cancer cases.He introduced the concept of "living with tumors," revolutionizing cancer treatment philosophies and establishing the academic theory system of Lingnan TCM oncology. He created formulationssuch as"He Chan Pills,"which wonthe Second Class Award for Major Scientific and Technological Achievements inTCMfromtheNationalMinistry of Healthin 1986and "Qing Jin De Sheng Pills."Histenrepresentativeworksinclude"Essentials of Tumor Treatment","Dietetics in TCM Oncology", and "ClinicalTCMOncology." He also edited "Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology",which ispart ofthe national curriculum for higher TCM institutions.He was awardedtheFirstPrize forScientific andTechnologicalAchievementsbythe Ministry of EducationandtheSecondPrize forScientific andTechnologicalAccomplishments byGuangdong Province in2010. He wasrecognized as the"Model of Southern Guangdong" in 2017 andhonored withthe "National Outstanding Contributionto TCM Award" in 2019.
