
Liu Liang, Doctor of Medicine, First Grade Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Foreign Academician of the National Academy of Inventors of the United States, a renowned expert in traditional Chinese internal medicine. He is a member of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Academic Committee of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Chief Scientist of Guangdong Provincial Academy of Chinese Medicine Sciences, Director of the Integrative Innovation Research Institute of Chinese and Western Medicine at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. He is mainly engaged in research, clinical work, and teaching in the field of integrated Chinese and Western medicine, particularly in rheumatology and immunology. Under his leadership, the research team internationally pioneered the TiO2-PGC chip detection technology for rheumatic disease diagnosis, successfully developed the first rheumatic drug targeting prostaglandin E2 ultimate synthase-1 (mPGES-1) - theZheng Qing Feng Tong Ningseries products. These products are now used in over 3,500 hospitals in 31 provinces and cities nationwide. Liu Liang has also established new methods for rheumatic disease research, including creating the Sprague-Dawley rat adjuvant-induced arthritis model and the first rat intestinal gene set. He is a leader in the field of integrated Chinese and Western medicine, a recipient of the State Council Special Allowance, a consultant for the World Health Organization's Traditional Medicine Program, and the chairman of the expert group.He is also the chairman of ISO/TC249 Working Group I of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).Liu Liang serves as the chairman of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Immunology Branch of the Chinese Society of Immunology and the president of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Immunology Professional Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. He has received various awards and honors, including the first National Innovation Pioneer Certificate, the National Outstanding Young Expert with Outstanding Contributions, and the "Certificate of Honor" from the Macau Special Administrative Region Government. In terms of awards, he has received 17 national and provincial/ministerial awards and honors, including two second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and three first prizes of ministerial/provincial natural science awards. Liu Liang has also been awarded the Shulan Medical Award, the Guanghua Engineering Special Contribution Award, and the honorary citizenship of Zhuhai City. He has led four national key projects and published 20 monographs/textbooks, with over 300 papers in SCI academic journals and 43 international patents as the first inventor. In 2022, he was included in the list of the top 100,000 scientists globally.
