    The Heyuan Alumni Association of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine Established

    On the afternoon of June 6, the inaugural meeting of Heyuan Alumni Association of GZUCM was held at Heyuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Attendees included Pan Huafeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC GZUCM Committee and Vice President of the university, along with heads of relevant functional departments of the university, and over 50 alumni representatives from Heyuan City and various counties and districts. The meeting was presided over by Li Huijin, Vice President of Heyuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

    On behalf of the university, Pan Huafeng extended warm congratulations on the establishment of the Heyuan Alumni Association. She pointed out that alumni are not only valuable wealth and resources to the university, but also important support and reliance for the construction and development of the university. Alumni work is an essential part of the development of the university. She emphasized that the Heyuan alumni, through their practical actions, have been working hard in various industries in Heyuan, contributing to the local economic development and people's health, and they exemplify the spirit of GZUCM’s motto "enriching morality and learning, serving the world with sincerity". She also pointed out that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the university, when a series of celebrations will be held in November, and all alumni are sincerely invited to come back to share their valuable experience and insights, and jointly plan the brilliant future of the university for the next 100 years!

    Huang Chunxu, Vice President of Heyuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, warmly welcomed Pan Huafeng and her delegation. He pointed out that for a long time, GZUCM had been providing a steady stream of outstanding graduates for Heyuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which had laid a solid foundation for the development and construction of Heyuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Vice President Xiao Xinli introduced the preparations made for the Heyuan Alumni Association, and Minister Zhan Ruoting shared with the alumni the origin of the university's 100-year history.

    Pan Huafeng, Vice President of GZUCM, Zhan Ruoting, Director of the Human Resources Department, Ren Changbao, Member of the Alumni Association, Xiao Xinli, Vice President of the Alumni Association, Zhang Zanzhong, Consultant of the Alumni Association and Provincial Renowned TCM practitioner, and Peng Zhihua, Vice President of Dongyuan County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, jointly unveiled the plaque for the Heyuan Alumni Association of GZUCM.

    Letters of appointment were awarded, at the meeting, to the members of the first council of the Heyuan Alumni Association.

    Xu Quansheng, a 1994 alumnus of our university and a renowned TCM practitioner from Heyuan, expressed his gratitude for the care and support from his alma mater and extended sincere wishes for the alma mater’s centenary celebration. Liu Yu, a 2004 doctoral graduate in TCM orthopedics, said that the spirit of "enriching morality and learning, serving the world with sincerity" advocated by his alma mater had been silently influencing him over the years, driving him to work diligently and treat every patient with care and seriousness.
