With soft shoulders carrying heavy responsibilities, women demonstrate their dedication and commitment. In retrospect, 2023 was a year of rapid progress for our university. We have fully carried out the education campaign on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The extensive discussion on "transforming work style, emphasizing practical work, opening up new prospects, and striving for excellence" has promoted the expansion and deepening of the education campaign, showcasing renewed dedication and achievements. Our university has made outstanding achievements in nurturing talent, conducting scientific research, providing social services, preserving and developing culture, and fostering international exchange and collaboration. These hard-won achievements would not have been made without the efforts and sweat of all female faculty members. You have worked together with perseverance and dedication, displaying the unique delicacy, intelligence, and positive energy of women. The day before yesterday, Lin Lizhu was named as one of the "9th Batch of National Lei Feng Model Workers" by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Last year, Pan Huafeng's team won the second prize of the Science and Technology Award of China Association of Chinese Medicine for their work on "Theoretical Construction and Mechanism Research of Gastrointestinal 'Inflammation-Cancer Transformation' System Based on the Spleen"; Lu Chuanjian was appointed as the counselor of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, recognized as "The Most Beautiful Scientific and Technological Worker" in Guangdong, and was included in the "Lifetime Scientific Impact List" of the top 2% global scientists for two consecutive years. The gynecological team at the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Hospital of the Second Affiliated Hospital was honored with the title "The 21st National Youth Civilization Model". Lu Chuanjian, He Yiting, Lin Lin, and Liang Xuefang were honored with the title of "Guangdong Provincial Famous TCM Doctor." Wang Caiyan won the National Excellent Young Scientist Fund. The courses taught by Kuang Zaoyuan, Luo Songping, and Li Saimei's teams were selected as the national first-class courses. Wang Ziyuan was named "The Most Beautiful Pharmacist in Guangdong Province", and Qiang Xiaowen was awarded the title of "Outstanding Individual in Mental Health Education and Consultation in Guangdong Universities" for the academic year 2022-2023. At the First National Student (Youth) Games (Campus Group) Wushu Routine Competition, our university secured 4 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals, achieving a historic breakthrough for Guangdong Province. As a result, Lin Bin, Xie Zhuohua, and Liu Yanjun were commended by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. Li Jing won the first prize at the Guangdong University Mental Health Education Teaching Basic Skills Competition. Dong Zhaoyang secured the second place in the National Young Teacher Skills Competition organized by the Chinese Nursing Association. Gu Kunru and Xu Qin clinched the first prize at the 4th Rehabilitation-related Young Teacher Classroom Teaching Competition held by the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, and Zhan Yaxian received the third prize at the Guangdong Teaching Innovation Competition. Zhang Xiaojun and Li Runmei tutored their students to win the special award and the first prize in the 7th National Pharmaceutical Colleges Pharmaceutical/Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences Experimental Skills Exhibition. Yan Ping mentored her students to win the silver award at the "Yao Zu Tong Jun Cup" 3rd National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Students from Chinese Medicine Colleges and Universities. Tan Hongling instructed her students to secure the second prize at the 2nd National College Digital Intelligence Business Decision Innovation Competition. Zhang Xie and Zhang Wen prepared their students for the "National College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition", leading them to win the national project.
Crossing the threshold of time, we stand at a brand-new starting point. 2024 will be the first year of comprehensively implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. Let's uplift our morale and bear in mind the expectations that General Secretary Xi Jinping articulated for female compatriots during his group talk with the new leadership team of the All-China Women's Federation: To comprehensively promote the construction of a powerful country and the great rejuvenation of the nation through Chinese-style modernization, we need the united effort of all people, with women playing an irreplaceable role.
