Alumni Symposium in Zhongshan City Successfully Held

On the afternoon of March 16th, in the Minyi Hall on the fifth floor of the administrative office building of Zhongshan Hospital of Chinese Medicine, the alumni symposium in Zhongshan City was successfully held. More than 50 alumni representatives from various units across Zhongshan attended the symposium. The event was also attended by Chen Wenfeng, Secretary of the CPC GZUCM Committee, Qiu Yahong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC GZUCM Committee and President of the Alumni Association, as well as Liu Zhongqiu, Vice President of the university.

During the symposium, Chen Wenfeng, along with the alumni, reviewed the century-long history of the university. He reported on the recent achievements made by the university in the construction of “Double First-Class” and high-level university, as well as the development of national key laboratories. He emphasized that the university would continue to leverage its advantages in talent cultivation and scientific research to support the development of Zhongshan's Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) industry and the career advancement of its alumni.

At the symposium, the alumni expressed their excitement and pride in the various achievements made by their alma mater in recent years. They extended heartfelt congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the university's establishment and offered valuable suggestions and opinions for its development. With deep emotion, the alumni recalled their student days at the alma mater and expressed their gratitude for the education they received. They unanimously stated that they would continue to strongly support the construction and development of their alma mater. They hoped that GZUCM would accelerate its pace to becoming a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, making new and greater contributions to the construction of a strong country in education, technology, and talent.

Alumni representatives included Lai Haibiao, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Zhongshan Hospital of Chinese Medicine; Li Leyu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Zhongshan Hospital of Chinese Medicine; Lan Huairen, Member of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the People's Hospital of Zhongshan City; Ma Hongliang, Director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Resource Development and Management Center of Zhongzhi Pharmaceutical Group; Zhang Xiaoyue, Director of the New Retail Department of HEC Group's Preparation Sales Company; Zhao Caipin, President of Ma Xin Hospital of Zhongshan City; Chen Zhaochu, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau of Tanzhou Town, Zhongshan City; Zhong Ling, Director of the Urology Department of Zhongshan Chinese Medicine Hospital; Huang Fuli, President of Tanzhou People's Hospital of Zhongshan City; Ling Xiaohao, President of Gangkou Hospital of Zhongshan City; and Wang Feng, President of Zhongshan City Rehabilitation Hospital. They all successively made speeches.

Chen Wenfeng emphasized that the alma mater is the eternal home for alumni. The university would further enhance the connection between the university and its alumni, and promote a deeper integration of alumni resources with the university's teaching, research, and industrial capabilities. Relevant departments of the university would carefully review the suggestions and opinions of the alumni, and implement them in line with the actual work. He expressed his hope to establish a Zhongshan alumni organization as soon as possible, so as to provide more meticulous and warm services to the alumni, and to join hands in creating a new situation for the construction of “Double First-Class” and high-level university.

During the meeting, there was also an exchange regarding the preparation of the GZUCM Alumni Association in Zhongshan City. Prior to the alumni symposium, the university and the Zhongshan Municipal Health Bureau, as well as Zhongshan Hospital of Chinese Medicine, held discussions on further deepening the cooperation between the university and the city.

Representatives from various departments, including the CPC Committee Office of the university, the Office of Anniversary Affairs, the Alumni Association (Education Development Foundation), the Development Planning Department (Hospital Management Department), and the Academic Affairs Department, attended the meeting.
